A Strategic, Low Impact Location
Origis Energy’s Lockport Storage Project is designed to efficiently connect to the grid by being located adjacent to a utility substation (shown here in orange).

Operating on a minimal project footprint, less than a quarter of the land (shown here in blue) within the project boundary will be used for the facility, with most of the area left untouched.

Away from the Falls
The project site, located on private property outside of Lockport, was chosen to avoid the Falls, a cherished ecological landmark and energy contribution that defines the region.
The entire project is located over 20 miles away from the Niagara Falls.

New York State’s Energy Goals
Contributing to the state’s 2030 standard
In the state of New York, the development of battery storage is being driven by a standard set in 2024, to add 6 gigawatts of energy storage by 2030.
With an addition of this size, batteries would be able to provide nearly 20% of the state’s energy during peak use times.
